Dearest Person,
Let me tell you some of the reasons why I am cool (that being a subjective term) and some of the reasons why I am not cool.
First the reasons that I am cool: I wear fun socks. I give great massages. I am kind. I love the computer and am not afraid to admit it. I think Havaiana thongs are the best thing since sliced bread. I love animals. I think “Bewitched” was ahead of its time and was an awesome show. I want to believe in magic, but I have a compulsion to find out how they really do it. I think Football (as in Socceroos) is the best sport in the world. When ever I see a STOP sign I am tempted to write ‘Hammertime’ underneath it. I have a good poker face. I am a music junkie. I am a movie junkie. I think my friend Ken is going to be a better director than Spielberg. I love to watch surfers. I love my electric toothbrush. I am a great chef when it comes to baking cakes. I always go for the underdogs. I am both a dog and a cat person. I love sleeping in. I love helping people I don’t know. Most important I know that all of these things mean very little in the overall scope of the world.
Now – for the reasons that I am not cool (some people might say). I wear fun socks; I love stupid jokes – as in the ones that make little to no sense at all. (Two penguins are sitting in a bath tub and one penguin says to the other “Hey, pass the soap” The other one says “What do I look like? A Penguin?”). I am stubborn. I am gullible. I love going to bed early. I prefer to chill at a party or BBQ rather than getting pissed in the city. I love TV. I don’t like beer – any kind. I watch Gossip Girl. I have over 5 books that I started to read, but never finished (signs of a bad book). I like to watch crappy MTV shows. I don’t know much about politics. I learn things the hard way. I speak before I think. When I am home alone, I dance around the house like a crazy monkey who has had too much sugar.
There are many more reasons that I am not cool but let’s face it – that just makes me cooler right? (Sure buddy, you keep telling yourself that). Anyway, here is a little more about me. Don Williams once said “The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.” I cannot think of a better quote that expresses my view of life. I love to laugh and I love to think. I love my parents; I think they are cool dudes. I love day dreaming. I love the springtime more than any other – cooking BBQ’s, listening to the baby birds, hearing the cicadas come to life, sitting by the pool in the evening after having a massive lunch. Life doesn’t get much better than this. Finally, I’d love think there is someone equally as cool or uncool out there for me.
Lastly, I’ve always had a need to hold on to things that trigger something within me… whether it’s a poster from a movie I loved, or a note I was given in 7th grade.
This collection of images is about me sharing something that’s important to me – with you.
Please share your thoughts and comments, and I will happily respond.
Peace, Love & Art.
